In my magazine program, you will see a variety of events happening, there will be
- A News forecast
- Weather forecast
- A musical act and interview
- A type of product advertisement
- A gossip section about celebrities
- A game show
My presentation of my magazine program would be styled in a quite modern sleek way, the appearance I am aiming for it to be similar to is E-news, simply because I like the fact that their layout looks very professional and modern.
The name of my Magazine styled show would be called STC News. The abbreviation of South Thames college and the word news associated towards it. I feel like using the whole name without the abbreviation would be too heavy to present on television so i decided to abbreviate it.

I would want the words to appear bold similar to E-news and also vibrant, so it can be eye-catching towards my viewers. The age group I tend to want my show to appeal to is towards the ages of 16-25 because I plan to make my show entertaining and also relatable to people my age, whilst making it mature enough for older people to watch as well.
The news segment of my show will be presented formally and clear spoken. The two news reporters would be standing around a table or sitting down on a sofa. I say this because I want my news segment to add a comfortable casual feeling, to viewers that are watching it whilst relaxing on their sofa at home. Overall I won't really need many items for the news segment, if anything I would need some pens and some pencils to make the table look very informative, that's if I decide to present my news on a table, I'm a bit indecisive about where the news should be presented.
If I present the news on a sofa then I won't really need that much items, if anything I would need pillows to make the chairs look comfy and cosy.
The only items I would need for the weather, is just a pointer ball pen to just point at the areas on the map I believe that using the pointer would look way better than using your hands.
In my show, i do tend to have a musical act as it is a necessary requirement that has to be a part of my show. I'm trying to structure the band in my show so they can perform songs in the intro of my show and through the end of my show. I will then eventually make sure the presenters interview them about their craft and talent.
Throughout my showthere will be breaks where there would be several product advertisements, just so the show does not go on for so long and does not add a boring appeal, as that could happen if my show is continuous.
The questions I plan to ask my musicians range from theses.
(Musicians who sing only)
- What got you into music? / When did you start to begin an interest in music?
- Do you have any musical inspirations?
- (If they have a stage name) - Where does your stage name come from? What is your stage name based off?
- Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
- Do you have any practices you do before performing?
- Is your family musical?
- Do you perform in public, have gigs?
(Musicians that play instruments only)
- When and why did you start playing?
- Is your family musical?
- Who are your favourite musicians?
- Do you perform in public, have gigs?
- Do you teach music?
- Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
- What was the first tune you learned?
- Do you have any practices you do before performing?
When it comes to shooting my bands performance, I am making sure to shoot them in a variety of angles. When they first appear on the show and start performing, I would want to do a pan of the musicians and then later transition to a medium shot so we can see their attire and faces.
(Medium shot)
This is what I mean by medium shot, a nice shot where you can get the person face along with clothes they are wearing.
A camera shot video: Pan
I am hoping to capture the faces of the band and to get shots. whilst some of them are singing to show the passion they have for singing and their expressions as they hit every note, which would be helpful for viewers at home to see this as they could not be in the audience.
As for the game show bit of my magazine show, i am planning to do a game show where our viewers at home get the chance to get their numbers picked at random, giving them the chance win money. All they have to do is answer the ultimate question about what we had discussed in our celebrity gossip segment, if the caller answers the question right they will then get a cheque of £250.
Overall this game was inspired by Wendy Williams game sector of her show, she calls a random number submitted by a viewer and then asks them a question related to her show, but the only difference is that my question would be based on my celebrity gossip segment and my prize would be £250, whereas Wendy's is based on every segment on her show and her cash price can range up to £1000 to £2000.
